I am sure this post is going to be really exciting. Many of us(especially girls) want to look years younger than our age. Well, that is certainly possible. With greater media influence and the increasing pressure for women especially to look attractive and younger, many women (maybe man as well) feel intimidated by their age/looks. Remember at the back of your mind, age is but just a number. Regardless of whether you are in your 30s, 40s, or even 50s, you can find the perfcet style, colour, pattern and design in your clothing to cut that age. Yes, you also have to remember how you present yourself will certainly help to do that. Here's some of the tips.
However, before we continue, you've got to be true to yourself. Be true to yourself about your age. So if you are 45 years old, declare that in your mind, and say to yourself, 'yes i am 45, but i want to look 10 years younger'. You've got to be true to yourself and know what can be done and what is realistic. I am not here to make an 80 year-old grandmother look like a 21 year old girl-next-door. We have to be realistic and know what can be done. But regardless of what your current age, you CAN look 10 years younger by following these tips.
Dress To Appear Younger (BUT SENSIBLY) Than Your Actual Age
1. Clothes That Fit You Just Nicely.
It is important to wear something that just fits nicely to your body. Not something too big, or too small. If you are wearing something too baggy, or an oversized T-shirt, it may look like your body is bigger and fatter and it will visually seem like you are older. Have you ever noticed if there is 2 person of the same age; the one who is obese tends to look older than the one who is skinny and thin? Well, i guess psychologically that additional visual size you put on your body create an older persona.
2. Wear Clothes That Looks New.
If you have clothes that look old, worn out, tattered, and ragged, THROW them away. Wearing something old, tattered can in fact make you look older. For goodness sake, if you have clothes that have holes, dump them! These clothes will not only make you look like you are poor financially(others may think you dont have money to purchase new clothes), but it will make your age faster. Remember to wear something that looks new, iron them if you need to, remove the stains and dirt.
3. Colours!
Well these may be a little contrasting to my previous posts in which i suggested wearing dark colours to show a slimmer, more authoritative you. But to make yourself look younger, wear bright colours. According to a research study, wearing something of bright colours can help to give the impression that you are a more cheerful person, and in return can give the impression of a youthful you. Usually people of the ages in the 40s and 50s wouldnt wear something that is too striking, or something in bright colours. Only youths in their teens and 20s would That is precisely why people in the 40s and 50s will never look younger. Be daring you 'old' folks. Learn to dress like the youngesters in their 20s. Dont be afraid to wear bright colours like yellow, blue, cyan, pink etc. But just remember colour of the clothing is one thing, the design is another. Dont wear something too outlandish and inappropriate for your age. Just choose bright colours!
4. T-Shirts!
If there is no need for you to dress formally for either a meeting, important event, wear casual T-shirts! People often associate casual t-shirts with young teenagers/adults! So if you are in your 40s, 30s, 50s, grab a T-shirt and maybe suit that with a jean. There you go! You'll look trendy, youthful and 10 years younger! I had a male music instructor who was 36 when he taught me music. I was surprised when he told me that! I thought he was just like 25 or 26 years old. He wore casual T-shirts every lesson and a hat to match it off. He really looked like one youngster who just graduated from college.
5. Dresses and Sneakers!
If you are a female who wants to look younger, certainly you've got to wear those dresses! I know many females who by the time they reach 40/50, tend to discard their dresses and go for the usual top and long pants. PLEASE! Wear dresses! Something that is not too outlandish and revealing, but something looks just right for the eye. You know what i mean. Dont be shy, just because you are older now doesnt mean you cant wear dresses. Wearing a dress can cut those extra ages and make yourself look feminine and youthful. Remember to choose the right colour though!
As for the man, wear those snickers when you are out taking a walk, window-shopping, or just going to the grocery store! Sneakers are not for young teenage cool boys! Older man in the 40s and 50s can wear sneakers too to look younger, trendier and youthful! Dont just go out with bermudas and slippers! You look really like an 'ah pek' (slank in Singapore for an old man).
6. Accessories!
Now, getting the right accessories to look younger can be hard though! The trick though in here is 'Less Is More'. Since you are already of a certain age, and want to look more youthful, it is best to remember not to wear too much of them, and look very outlandish and inappropriate as this will instead of making you look younger, it will exxaggerate the fact of your age. Imagine a 55 year old woman, carrying a strikingly pink hellp kitty purse, wearing extraordinarily short mini-shirt, wearing a big round earrings that dangles its way 10cm down her ears, wearing massively huge gold plated necklace that looks like they are 20 lbs heavy, and an 80s polka-dotted top to match it off. That is beyond ridiculous!
I will suggest to look younger, sometimes simplicity is the key to get the right accessories. Get a simple earing/stud(for females), light necklace, and maybe a small black purse that suits/bag someone 10 years younger your age. You can also wear those heels if you want(but not those high 8 inches heels). Get a 2 inches high heels. For guys, wear a watch. Maybe a nike/adidas watch to show the sporty of you as this will make you more youthful. People have the impression that you are still a young healthy active chap!
OTHER IMPORTANT TIPS TO LOOK YOUNGER!
i) Do your homework. Check the current trend in fashion for those 10 years younger than you! See what they are wearing so that you know the kind of wardrobe collection you should be having!
ii) Smile. Smiling is psychologically able to create a youthful appearance on you! Not only that, you will have lesser wrinkles and can age slower! Moreover, is doesnt cost a cent to smile! Say 'CHEESSEE'!
iii) Hairdo. Having the important hairstyle to make yourself look younger! Many women tend to cut their long hair upon reaching menopause or 50 years old. DONT! Keep those long hair as it will make you more youthful! Tie them neatly into a bun/ ponytail. Just remember to choose the right hairband. For guys, it is perfectly normal to use gels and wax even in your 50s and 60s. Comb your hair neatly to give yourself a clean and youthful image! In regards to white hair, you can opt to dye your hair if you want! Just make sure to get a quality hair dye!
iv) Stop smoking, and drinking. Stop these habits! Believe it or not, smoking can make you age faster than you think. Do not think the intimidating image on the cigarette packet are there just to haunt you, but they are real! People do get cancer from smoking, people do age faster, and you will look like you are sick! Please! Save those money buying cigarettes and make yourself look younger!
v) Judge your face, do you need make-up? Some people may need a little touch up on their face to accentuate certain facial features to make themselves look younger! Some people, infact, dont need any make-up to look younger. There are some people who looks really bad and old with make-up on! Judge for yourself! If you just need a foundation, then use it! If you need a light pink lipstick to make yourself look younger, use them! Some people may want to further accentuate their big eyes so that it makes them look younger, go ahead and use a mascara or eyeliner! You know yourself best!
vi) Trim unwanted facial hairs! Well if you are a guy, most probably you have some beard, or moustache growing on your face. If you want to look younger, trim there. Yes get rid of them completely! Or at least, if you do not want to trim them completely, at leat keep them neat and clean. Having unkempt long messy facial hairs can really make you decades older.
vii) Exercise and eating healthy. Like i have said a million times, exercising and eating right will not only make you healthier. It will make you look younger! When you exercise, there is a chemical produced in the body that helps you age slower. Also, when you have a nice fit toned body, many will judge that you look more youthful! Trust me! That additional belly and fats you've got will only make you look uglier, and older!
viii) Positive Mindset. Having a positive mindset is also important to look younger! Telling yourself that you are young regardless of what, will in turn make you feel young! When you keep thinking for yourself as young, you will be young! What you think is what you attract! HAvent you heard of it?

Dressing Well- Are you sure you are dressing well to look more authoritative?
Your clothing and appearance speak volumes about you. This post is for those working adults who wants more attention and respect from their subordinates/colleagues etc. You will be surprised that certain ways of dressing can help accentuate certain degree of authority and power. Have you ever been reprimanded by someone in the office and felt that you are mistreated inappropriately? Perhaps it was your dressing sense that gave way to such humiliation. Now, i will tell you certain ways to present yourself way in the office, and of course with greater authority, and hopefully people will treat you better with more respect!
Dress To Appear More Authoritative
1. Dress Neatly.
Well, this is the most idiot proof tip i have for you. Regardless of what you are wearing, it is clear that if you present yoruself neatly, regardles of whether you are wearing a pyjamas, a suit, a blazzer etc, it is always important to look neat to be well respected. Tuck in your shirts well, dont let any unwanted edges slips their way out of your pants/skirts. Iron those outfits. Dont wear something that looks like it hasnt been washed/ironed. Those crumpled outfits will suggest to your colleagues that you care less about your appearance, and this will give them a negative impression on your work and lifestyle. You will not command the same respect and authority from them. Polish those shoes if you need to. Dirt, stains, markings on your outfits should be minimized. Get a new one if there is a need to. Dont let others think you are a cheap-skate, as this will decrease the value of you as a person and will indirectly relate to the amount of respect you get at work.
2. Wear dark colours!
Darker colours like black are more authoratative than medium or light colours like yellow, blue, pink. Have you ever wondered by the agents in 'Man in Black' are literally in black suits? Well as agents, they have to present themselves as authoratative figures, therefore they chose a black suit for their apparel. However do remember that the outfit inside your blazzer shouldnt be black since your blazzer outside is already black. Wearing black inside and out may seem boring to others. I sugegst white inside and black outside. Generally darker suits project authority. Trust me, you'll never find a pink suite with rainbow patterns, because it is simply in contrast to what authoratative people want to portray. Choose dark conservative suits in navy solid or with a minimal pattern or texture for ultimate authority and control.
3. 1 pocket is enough!
Having a pocket on your suite (usually on the left side), will suggest certain degree of managerial position and a respectable figure in the workplace. Do find suites with too many pockets as that will defer the purpose of authority. Too many pockets will only suggest your lack of taste in style and it will not depict an authoratative figure. Just 1 is enough!
4. Have a pen with you!
Well, you certainly need a pen for your work. But to give a more authoratative look to yourself, hook the pen onto the pocket of your suite. It has been suggested that having a pen on the pocket of your suite sugegts that you are a ready and smart person, always on the alert. That will certainly give a more respectable reputation to your image in front of your colleagues. But please get a relatively expensive pen that shows class and style. Dont get a cheap pen please. -_-''
5. Accessories!
The key to a more authoratative look when working is to have a minimalist set of accessories. Yes! Dont think the more the better in this case. Too much accessories may give others the impression that you are too obssessed about your look and not focused on your work and hence decline the authoratative value in you. For guys, wear a watch; a classy, silver metallic casio watch. You may also wear a tie if neccessary. Choosing the colour though may be tricky. Choose colours like blue, and with minimalist patterns and designs. For females, get a watch and an earring, something that is simple and minimalist, not too fancy. Something formal!
6. Heels.
As i said in my previous, even guys nowadays are wearing hidden heals! Dont be shy about it! That added inches in height can help to boost your confidence when you work and you can present yourself with greater power and authority! Females, get heels that are not too tall, you dont want to end up walking like a duck with a pain feet at the end of your work shift. Females, get black heels that is about 2 inches. For guys, you too may get a shoe that has hidden 2-3 added inches in insoles.
7. Hairdo!
Females, for goodess sake, tie your hair! That is the simple rule! You dont want to thic unkemptk hair bellowing at your boss's face when the wind blows. Tie them to the back, either into a bun or a ponytail. Make sure your hair is neatly tied. The trick to look authoratative is not too look like a sl*t or a glam wh*re, but to look classy, formal and respectable. For guys, it is better to have a short haircut and you may put some gel to spike them up or simply comb them neatly. For guys with long hairs, i suggest either you cut them up to your shoulder length and let them hang freely(but neatly) or tie them neatly into a bun.
8. Shoulder Pads!
Shoulder pads certainly adds authority. Slightly padded shoulders and collar adds come degree of authority and power to your image.
9. Apart from the looks! Smell good!
Get a Perfume/fragrance! When you smell great, people are more likely to confide in you. This will translate to a better working environment, and indirectly shows a certain impact you have on others. This will translate to the kind of respect and authority you indirectly inpose on others. You wouldn't want others in the office to smell your BO and go' Oh my god'. Imagine the kind of reputation you will have and the respect others will give to you.
Regardless of what business occassions it is, it is important that you wear to suit the occassion. Whether it is your everyday office work, or it is some work attahcment/ or work casual day, remembers these tips! Some girls can also use make-up to do some light touch-up. Dressing Well- Are you sure you are dressing well to look taller?
Hi, to those people who are vertically challenged. FRET NOT! Have you ever been told 'short', or simply feel that you are not tall enough among your peers? Well, forget about the skeptics about stretching exercises, forget about surgeries, forget about diet and exercise to help you achieve that height in the next
few months. I am going to teach you how you can instantly LOOK taller, and appear taller, in photos and in person. No tricks involved. Just tips on how you should dress yourself to create that optical illusion. Dress To Appear Taller
1. Utilizing vertical lines patterns to your outfits.
I am sure you know this. As far as possible, use paterns that can create the illusion of a longer you, well vertically. As such, DO NOT use horizontal patterns, or even a belt that can be seen under your shirt, as horizontal line/pattern/design can make you wider, hence shorter. Some people use belts, that is fine, as long as you hide them under your shirt.
2. Single colour outfit.
Do not use contrasting colours for your top and botom. Dont ever use a yellow top with a black bottom, as it will make you seem like your body is cut into half, and hence creates a shorter illusion of you. Imagine someone wearing a black top and a black jeans, it creates a one-piece long figure illusion. Make sense? You wont go wrong with dark colours like black and grey!
3. Outfit that just fits nicely.
Just like how you want to make yourself look slimmer, getting an outfit that fits just nicely is as important to make you taller. Imagine someone wearing a loose baggy top, it makes him/her look bulkier and wider, hence heavier and shorter. This may seem puzzling to you, but psychologically, all these rules apply.
4. Mini-Skirts! (Girls)
Yes, put on that mini skirts. Choose one that is above the knee. If you wear a long skirt, it will not make you taller, but instead you look dumpy. At the same time, wearing mini-skirts help to show some of your legs, and hence, creates a longer illusion of the bottom half of your body.
5. V-shape tops
Whether you are thinking of wearing a sweater, top, tees, always look for a V-shap neck pattern that will help to accentuate your neck line and create a longer upper body. Crew neck however will cut the body into sections. For males who wants to get blazzers, get one that folds open to have a V shape cut. It not only makes you appear more classy, but taller!
6. Add those accessories!
Wearing necklaces can help create a longer neck and hence elongates your upper body section. But do remember necklaces that are long enough that touches the midsection of your chest. Choose necklaces that are not too heavily studded, but a simple one. If you wear something that seems bulky and too much, it may seem heavy in the eyes and give the illusion that something is pulling you down, hence make you appear shorter. For girls, dont wear studs. Wear earings that looks long on your ear.Also, men can also wear scarfs to elongate their neck.
7. Heels!
Do not think that heels are only for females. Even guys today are wearing heels to add instant height to their height. There are many insoles that you can purchase to put into your shoes. Especially for guys, you dont have to be shy about getting insoled 'heels' in your sneakers as nobody will know! There are in fact shops available in selling such high-heeled shoes for men! Just google it! But also note not to wear ankle straps as this will make your legs look shorter. For females, dont even worry about heels! You can openly wear them, even as high as 6inches heels! I've seen one wearing as high as 8-inches! But the trick is, if you can get pointed heels it is better, it will make you more elegant. If girls wear those thick wedged heels, it may somewhat let others know you are really short that's why you are weraing those heels!
8. Skinny Jeans for men and women.
Yes! Skinny jeans can help to decrease the width of your lower body and this will help to create a thinner leg and hence and longer illusion of your lower body. Also, the length of your pants/jeans is also important. If left too long pants can bunch up at the bottom and this will only draw the attention to the fact that they dont fit your size because probably you are too small. Avoid pants with turn-up as these shorten the legs and never tuck pants into boots, as this will visually reduce the length of your legs(guys especially).
9. Suspenders!
Suspenders are not for geeks. It is for those who wants to look trendy. Wearing a suspender can help to create an additional vertical lining to your body and create a taller illusion of you! Try it if you dont believe!
But remember, apart from all these tips, you must also note that exercising to lose excess weight and staying fit will also help to maintain that trim and proper look to make you taller. Your hairstyle is also important. Improving one's posture is also important! Yoga and pilates ca help to correct them. For girls, tie your hair high, or create a bun on top of your head, it helps elongate upper body look. For guys, spiky hair, with proper trim at the side can make you look taller. Just like how you want to make yourself look slimmer, getting an outfit that fits just nicely is as important to make you taller. Imagine someone wearing a loose baggy top, it makes him/her look bulkier and wider, hence heavier and shorter. This may seem puzzling to you, but psychologically, all these rules apply.
4. Mini-Skirts! (Girls)
Yes, put on that mini skirts. Choose one that is above the knee. If you wear a long skirt, it will not make you taller, but instead you look dumpy. At the same time, wearing mini-skirts help to show some of your legs, and hence, creates a longer illusion of the bottom half of your body.
5. V-shape tops
Whether you are thinking of wearing a sweater, top, tees, always look for a V-shap neck pattern that will help to accentuate your neck line and create a longer upper body. Crew neck however will cut the body into sections. For males who wants to get blazzers, get one that folds open to have a V shape cut. It not only makes you appear more classy, but taller!
6. Add those accessories!
Wearing necklaces can help create a longer neck and hence elongates your upper body section. But do remember necklaces that are long enough that touches the midsection of your chest. Choose necklaces that are not too heavily studded, but a simple one. If you wear something that seems bulky and too much, it may seem heavy in the eyes and give the illusion that something is pulling you down, hence make you appear shorter. For girls, dont wear studs. Wear earings that looks long on your ear.Also, men can also wear scarfs to elongate their neck.
7. Heels!
Do not think that heels are only for females. Even guys today are wearing heels to add instant height to their height. There are many insoles that you can purchase to put into your shoes. Especially for guys, you dont have to be shy about getting insoled 'heels' in your sneakers as nobody will know! There are in fact shops available in selling such high-heeled shoes for men! Just google it! But also note not to wear ankle straps as this will make your legs look shorter. For females, dont even worry about heels! You can openly wear them, even as high as 6inches heels! I've seen one wearing as high as 8-inches! But the trick is, if you can get pointed heels it is better, it will make you more elegant. If girls wear those thick wedged heels, it may somewhat let others know you are really short that's why you are weraing those heels!
8. Skinny Jeans for men and women.
Yes! Skinny jeans can help to decrease the width of your lower body and this will help to create a thinner leg and hence and longer illusion of your lower body. Also, the length of your pants/jeans is also important. If left too long pants can bunch up at the bottom and this will only draw the attention to the fact that they dont fit your size because probably you are too small. Avoid pants with turn-up as these shorten the legs and never tuck pants into boots, as this will visually reduce the length of your legs(guys especially).
9. Suspenders!
Suspenders are not for geeks. It is for those who wants to look trendy. Wearing a suspender can help to create an additional vertical lining to your body and create a taller illusion of you! Try it if you dont believe!
But remember, apart from all these tips, you must also note that exercising to lose excess weight and staying fit will also help to maintain that trim and proper look to make you taller. Your hairstyle is also important. Improving one's posture is also important! Yoga and pilates ca help to correct them. For girls, tie your hair high, or create a bun on top of your head, it helps elongate upper body look. For guys, spiky hair, with proper trim at the side can make you look taller. Also, CONFIDENCE is key! No matter how tall/short you look, confidence plays a part, as it may cause someone to slouch or stand in a certain manner than may add or reduce height! Dressing Well- Are you sure you are dressing well to look slimmer?
Hi, the development of the fashion industry and evolution of mankind have definitely changed the way fashion is defined today. Dressing well is no longer a want, but a need. Improving your image will not only help to increase your self-esteem and confidence, but it can help to portray a positive image to others. Imagine a guy clad in a singlet and bermudas, wearing flip-flops coming into a room for a job interview. Do you think that is even accpetable? Of course many of us would love to do that as it brings convenience, i know many of us are tired of wasting time to dress up well as some of us are not even bothered about our own image. BUT LISTEN! There are many people out there who knows how to dress up well, and precisely because of them, people like you who are not doing anything about it may be lacking in terms of your job career prospect, finding a suitable partner, getting the job you want, or maybe some of you are being criticised and looked down by your friends and relatives. Fred no more!
For my next subsequent posts, I am going to show you the tips and secrets to dressing well to portray the kind of image that you want!
First and formost, we have to ask ourself what sort of image we want to portray and the purpose of us dressing in a certain manner. Some people want to dress up in such a way that would make them slimmer (most probably for females), while some may choose to dress up to show certain authority and power, some may want to dress up to attract the girl they admire, or some may dress up just to follow the current trend. Regardless of what your intentions are, dressing well should still be the ultimate goal, whether you want to appear taller, slimmer, bulkier with greater authority etc. I have broken down some of these tips!
Dress To Appear Slimmer
1. Wearing clothes that fit just nicely will make you look slimmer.
DO NOT ever try to wear something that is a size or two bigger than your body as it will create the illusion of a bigger you! Yes guys especially like to wear those baggy oversized shirts, it does not lok good on you. Yes you will look skinnier, BUT that will give the impression that you are weirdly skinny and sick. Trust me, oversized baggy shirts dont work, well unless you want to be a DJ/rapper with that sort of fashion style. Although it is tempting to try to hide in a oversized large jacket to hide your big frame, is does not work! Trust me. The woman clad in purple outfit looks like she is hiding her pregnancy and she seems to be 30 pounds heavier than her actual weight! Whether you are a plus-sized or a skinny person, you can do something to make yourself look even slimmer than your actual frame. Its all in the visual tricks! Celebrities know these best! Oh and yes, it is also best to be clad in a single colour of a one-piece outfit, as it gives the illusion of a longer frame.

This will help to make your upper body looks longer and slimmer. It also gives a leaner look, plus help accentuate a more authoratative demeanour.
3. Dressing in dark colours
Whether you are a guy who fancy wearing a long jeans, or a female who wants to cover your skin to the toes, wearing dark coloured outifts like black and grey, has been discovered to help make someone look thinner. For females who want to wear a long jeans, wear one that is fit enough for your legs and with no frills. Just plain black jeans with plain pockets.
For guys, skinny jeans have been a popular trend though. It certainly help you look a little skinner. BUT make sure its not too tight where it is uncomfortable!

Wear something that has a vertical patterns instead of horizontal ones! This will not only make you appear taller, but definitely slimmer and thinner. This is because vertical lines help to create the illusion of a leaner longer appearance.
Stripes and seams are popular ways to create that vertical illusion. But remember, do not get a clothing that has too many stripes, or vertical lines that it may seem to overwhelming. Especially if you are short, the overwhelming stripes may make you look shorter as the too many lines and vertical cuttings make make you look

Eating Right- What exactly to EAT???
This post is a continuation of my previous, and this is my second post of my blog. I'll get down to the specifics and tell you exactly when to eat, what to eat, and how much to eat. It is very important to note all these things especially if you want to lose weight/ be fit / be healthy! Do note that these food taste just as great as all you junk food and stuff, so before you leave my blog continue reading! You'll be surprised at how beneficial some food can be, and how tasty certain food you have NEVER even tried in your life will taste great!
So how much food to eat???
Well technically for adults (above 21), an average calorie of 2000 per day is needed. For females, this may differ, maybe about 1500 calories/ day. On days when women have their period, they should eat more to replace the lost in nutrition during menstruation period. On the other hand, it also depends on your activity level, the more active you are, the more food you need, the less active you are the less you should eat to maintain your weight.
In simple math, if we eat more calories than we need, we will gradually gain weight, and if we eat less calories than we need, we will lose weight. Simple math, even a 1st grader would know this!
Of course, you must be thinking i am insane because we dont usually calculate our calorie intake, we SIMPLY EAT! Yes, we just eat mindlessly. Of course i am not asking you bring a calculator with you everywhere you go and eat, and calculate how many slices of cucumber brings about how many calories, how many calories are there in a tomatoes...etc etc. OF COURSE NOT! But listen, i will soon tell you the secret as to how much food you should eat!
Since young, we were taught and trained to eat 3 meals a day, yes 3 mega huge meals a day(well thats what an asian like me are traditionally brought up like). So as a kid born into an asian family, rice is my main staple food, and i usually eat 3 huge meals a day. It is usually rice accompanied by vegetable, meat(chicken, fish, beef), soup. However, i soon realised that is not very good for me. YES, all of you who are eating like me, PLEASE STOP!!!! You will now know why asian's way of eating is relatively bad compared to the westerners.
I recommened that all of us should be eating 5 meals a day! But wait a moment! It's 5 SMALL meals a day. For atheletes, bodybuilders or anyone who is very active in the day, 6 small meals a day should do. What is considered small may be big for everyone. So a standard way to measure this is to know that once you feel slightly full, stop eating! Do not eat to the point where you are so full, that you feel bloated, you feel like vomiting, or you feel like you cant breathe, or when you start burping uncontrollably etc etc. I think you know what i mean , this happens a lot when you go out with your friend to have a feast/ or buffet and you stuff all the food and gorge it down in seconds! Madness, its crazy how we can eat like a monsters! THAT IS BAD! That is my eating habit last time, but ever since, i have changed.
According to a medical expert, a standard small meal is measured with a plate with 3-inch radius, and when you feel up the plate with food, it should not be over 2 inch high. I know this must sound like 'WHAT' in your mind, but never mind. Forget about this if this is too troublesome. Just remember, have 5 small meals a day instead of the conventional 3 big meals/day, and know when you feel slightly full, STOP EATING!
When to eat???
So you must be thinking. 5 small meals a day. 24 hours a day. How do i do that?
It's simple. Eat every 2-3 hours a day. Trust me, after eating a small meal, you will definitely get hungry after 2-3 hours. If you hire a personal trainer in a gym, this is what they will tell you . Definitely! Because i have been told before, and ever since, i have changed my eating habit. In fact, many people who goes to the gym and want to look good physically are doing the same. The reason behind this is beacuse when you eat more frequently, it will help to increase your metabolism rate as each time you eat, you will signal your body to use energy for fuel. Therefore in viewpoint, these are timings of the day you should be eating your 5 small emals.
Meal no 1: 0800
Meal no 2: 1100
Meal no 3: 1400
Meal no 4: 1700
Meal no 5: 1900
For people having 6 small meals, you can squeeze another small meal into the schedule by eating every 2-2.5 hours.
How is eating small meals throughout the day beneficial for me?
Well, eating small emals throughout the day will ensure that you will not be overeating/undereating. Regardless of your size, whether you are obese, as skinny as a stick,or whether you are a muscular bodybuilder, eating small meals ensure that your metabolism in at bay, and that any excess fat can be eliminated easily. For those who are overweight and looking into losing weight, eating small meals will ensure that your metabolism is increased and it will be easier for the body to burn fat. Afterall, the main reason behind fat people being fat is because many of them are overeating, right?
What to eat?
Now the big question comes. What to eat? Sorry. Wait.Lets talk about what NOT TO EAT! There are plenty!
Not to be eaten(regularly) : Oily food, fried food, rice, noodle, desserts, cakes, pastries, puffs, junks, chips, fast food, food high in fat., etc etc
The list goes on, i bet you dont need me to feed you with all the list. I know you know what i mean. These food have been repeatedly told by school, media, parents, that they are bad for you but many people seem to care less. For an asian reading this, you may be like 'WHaatatt...? I cant eat rice and noodle? Are you kidding me?' YES, the reason being, many of us are eating food that already have carbohydrate content. Even the vegetable, beans, meat you eat have some small content of carbohydrate in them , so technically you DONT need additional carbohydrate food in your meal like rice and noodle, as they will only put more weight on your body. If you notice westerners in general, they dont eat rice and noodle in their home countries, and that is the reason why westerners have very differing bodies compared to asians.
TO BE CONSUMED (regularly) : Beans, vegetable, fruits(berries are great), meat sources of protein, fruit juices, sweet potatoes(replacement of rice/potatoes/noodles), plenty of water (2 litres throughout the day), tuna/sardine, milk, nuts etc
There are many other great healthy food out there in the market, just be intelligent and be critical when choosing them; look at their food content label!
I will show you a recommened list of meals you can have during the day! These food are not only healthy and good for you, but they are tasty as well! Who says healthy food have to taste bad?
Meal no 1:
A glass of milk + a glass of orange juice with
option 1: 3 slices of tuna sandwhich
option 2: 2 slices of sweet potatoes with 2 boiled eggs
option 3: a bowl of oats with berries
Meal no 2:
option 1: 300g grilled salmon with some carrots, brocolli , green peas
option 2: a can of tuna whites with cottage cheese, spinach, cauliflower
option 3: a can of sardine with mixed vegetables, cucumber, diced tomatoes
Meal no 3:
option 1: 4 boiled egg whites with mixed nuts, asparagus, green peas
option 2: 250g lean boiled chicken breast meat with cabbage, diced pineapples, almonds
option 3: 250g grilled fish with herbs, cauliflower, spinach, cashew nuts
Meal no 4:
option 1: 250g grilled beef with brocolli, spinach, cottage cheese
option 2: a can of salmon with edamame soya beans, spinach, brocolli
option 3: 4 egg whites with diced tomatoes, cottage cheese, cauliflower
Meal no 5:
A glass of milk with
option 1: apple sticks with a glass of fruit punch
option 2: fruit salad made from apples, orange, pear, watermelon
option 3: vegetable salad made from cabagge, cashew nuts, mini tomatoes, carrots, berries
Sorry if i repeat some of the item like brocollli, as i feel it is still the best vegetable among others. If you notice for the meals i listed, there is usually a source of protein food, coupled with vegetables (sources of fibre), and nuts and berries etc. You dont have to comply to every single detail here, so long you know you need to have protein, fibre, calcium, iron, magnesium, carbohydrate, and the usual important minerals and vitamins. I am sure you know what i mean.
NOTE: Of course, stop smoking, and drinking! You know it is bad! Please stop! No point eating all these healthy food if you are still trying to destroy your own body!
